*Notice* Chittagong Port - New regulation for LCL import

Port of Chittagong

The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has issued an earlier circular effective 1 January 2023 on the requirements to palletise/pack all the LCL/FCL cargoes according to the set standard with clear shipping marks for smooth and safe port operations.

It is observed that in some cases, proper instructions on palletization are not followed which creates complexities in stacking LCL cargoes and delivery of the LCL/FCL cargoes. The risk of fire incidents are increasing since the cargoes are not being palletized and packed properly. Hence, a further notice was issued that cargoes that are not palletized properly with clear shipping marks on LCL cargo, legal actions will be taken against the concerned as per the ordinance of the Chittagong Port Authority.
